Not Your Basic Beauty Guru Tag!

People tend to think beauty influencers are experts (or should be) at doing makeup. Of course, that’s not always true. What is one thing you struggle with doing?
Hmmm... it definitely has to be a few things I struggle with, like, for example, cutting crease and contouring other faces. I don't feel comfortable applying false lashes on other people.
On that note, are there any makeup techniques you’d like to improve or learn how to do?
I like to improve on perfecting my contouring, highlighting, and cut creases. It's a lot harder to do when you try to do it on someone else besides yourself.
Are there any makeup looks, styles, trends, or techniques you absolutely refuse to do or follow on yourself? (Ex. winged liner, false lashes, etc.)
Probably, fluffy brows and wiggly brows tend to be something I don't like. For other people, such as mature clients, I would never highlight with a glitter highlighter down near the nose. It brings out too many wrinkles.

Are they any makeup trends or styles that you used to dislike, but now love? Or vice versa any that you used to love that now you don’t care for anymore?

A trend I used to not like oh gee that's a hard one hmmm... probably Asian style makeup I don't think it looks cute on us westerners, but it looks great on them. But I do love the faded lip colour that makes you look like you sucked on a popsicle.
Are they any beauty/makeup trends that most people hate that you (maybe secretly) like?
Honestly, I would say thick, luscious lash extensions like mega volume. If done right, they look beautiful.
Are there any makeup “rules” or stereotypes that bother you?
I would say the judgment that strangers assume if you have a career in beauty, you must be stupid or easy.
What “old news” makeup products do you still love and use on the regular?
Oh, that is hard! Um, would have to be maybe my RCMA foundation palette or gel pot liner from Inglot.

There may be a specific influencer that inspired you to start your blog, but let’s talk about what, if anything, influencers inspired you NOT to do!?

Probably not being confrontational towards other people in the beauty community and not buying your followers and likes.
What beauty content do you love creating the most?
Would have to say writing these blogs and creating makeup looks, but cleaning brushes is no fun.
Is there any content that you create based on audience request or interest, that you actually don’t really like or prefer to create?
Video tutorials only because I have bad teeth, but never say never I might do it in the future.
How often do you post?
Try to post twice a week but sometimes I get sidetracked by other things.
Do you have a job outside of blogging?
No, I don't at the moment I am focusing on finishing my course in hairdressing.
What beauty content do you enjoy consuming (watching or reading) the most?
Watching on YouTube, I like vlogs and behind-the-scenes, but occasionally, I don't mind a tutorial video. Books would have to be advice and information with tutorials to help improve your makeup or hair.
Any non-makeup blogs you love?
More than likely be art videos on YouTube.
Are there any makeup misconceptions because of Youtube, Blogging or Instagram, that you wish people knew the truth about or that you hope to change with your blog?
Social media makeup is the correct way of doing makeup when, in fact, there are so many faults with it that it can actually make you look older beyond your years. That doing makeup is on yourself is as easy as doing someone else's makeup. There is also a misconception that everything you see and hear on YouTube is correct when there is a lot of misinformation in regard to makeup and beauty treatments.
Have you ever felt unqualified or like a bad beauty blogger because you didn’t do things just like every other “beauty guru”?
Maybe in the past, but now I realize a lot of it is BS, and they will say anything to get paid. You can't trust X saying something because Y is paying them to do so. The only way to know is to get educated yourself, go get a treatment or start your own business.

If you could collaborate with a brand, which would it be and what would you create?

Ohhh, definitely Vieve or Bobby Brown.
Would you rather collaborate with a brand or create a makeup/beauty line?
I rather have my own brand but I aren't against collaborating with a brand either.
Hope you enjoy this post; it is something fun for a change. If you decide to do this tag yourself, feel free to comment below, and I'll show you some love.
